We have visited three exhibitions:
-
MARTIN PARR. PARRATHON
Martin Parr (Epsom, UK, 1952) is an internationally renowned photographer, member of the Magnum Agency since 1994. His images are a critique of the system from within, showing the problems of our time with an ironic gaze capable of documenting the kitsch side of everyday life.
This retrospective at the CCCC traces the career of this singular photographer through some of his iconic series, between 1975 and 2019. Parr, accumulates images with which he shows us the fragmented vision of a reality dominated by consumerism, mass tourism, junk food, superficiality, classism or the hyper-representation of the "I", as signs of an era that reaches our days.

CEBALLOS & SANABRIA. EL SOMRIURE DE LES FALLES
The exhibition of the fallero artists Ceballos & Sanabria (José Luis Ceballos, València 1978 and Francisco Sanabria Casado, València 1979) opens the doors to endless possibilities for the fallero sector as well as to the dignity of the same, as it moves for the first time to a museum specialized in contemporary art, an anthological sample that exhibits all kinds of fallero material as what it is: Works of art; finally dignifying a sector that produces the work of a festival declared Intangible Heritage of Humanity, which makes fallero artists the most international contemporary artists as well as ambassadors of Valencian culture.
The exhibition is divided into three blocks:
-'La Casa de Correcher': A display of fallero material, from falla sketches to ninots saved from the flames.
-A variety show': An exhibition focused on fallero graphic design, which is an indispensable support to illustrate and disseminate the festival.
-And they gave us the 10 and 11': An exhibition about the Falla Municipal Infantil de València 2020-2021, as well as the trajectory of Ceballos&Sanabria in their eleven works destined to the Plaza del Ayuntamiento.

EDEL RODRÍGUEZ. AGENTE NARANJA
Gabriel (Cuba), 1971. The Illustrator-in-Chief of the United States, arrived in his adopted country on May 1, 1980, aboard the Nature Boy, as one more among the thousands of Marielitos that Castroism expelled from the island. An experience that has marked his way of being and being in the world.
"In this country no one should have to be quiet or not speak. That's what the American dream was for me." With this maxim, Rodriguez has emerged as one of the world's most influential illustrators since Der Spiegel or Time. His are the iconic images of Donald Trump holding the recently decapitated head of the Statue of Liberty or about to devour the Earth.
The freedom from which he approaches his work has been a revulsive for international graphic art by creating explicitly political imagery. But he has gone beyond that. He has established a personal relationship with the public by allowing the use of his images for social mobilizations.
Edel Rodriguez has been shaking up American society and world politics for more than 20 years with covers before which it is impossible not to feel the sincerity and coherence with which he approaches his work. "For me, the only commitment an artist has to be able to call himself an artist is to work and create".
